🔒 Beware This New Malware: It "Annoys" You Into Handing Over Login Details!

How cautious are you and your team with online security? You probably know the usual phishing scams and the “don’t click suspicious links” drill, right? Well, here’s something new: a sneaky malware has popped up that annoys you into giving away your Google login info! 😳

Prefer to learn via video?

This pesky malware doesn’t have a catchy name yet, but it’s tied to a broader threat known as Amadey and has been rising since August. Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Locked in “Kiosk Mode” – First, it forces your computer into a full-screen mode called "kiosk mode." Usually used on public computers, this mode hides navigation buttons like the address bar and menus, leaving you feeling “stuck” in one place.

2️⃣ Fake Password Reset Alert – Next, it redirects you to a fake Google password reset page. You might think, “No problem, I’ll just hit Esc or F11,” but… those shortcuts are disabled! Instead, you’re nudged to enter your login details to “fix” the problem.

🚨 Caution! The second you enter your info, it’s snatched by a hidden piece of malware running in the background. 😱 The login details go straight to cybercriminals who can then access your accounts.

How to Outsmart This Malware Trick

🛡️ Stay Calm and Exit – You’re not actually stuck! Here are two simple tricks:

  • Alt + Tab to another open application, or use Ctrl + Alt + Delete to reach the Task Manager, allowing you to exit the malicious screen.

  • If in doubt, restart your computer without entering any login details.

Remember, you’re not trapped – the real trap is entering your credentials. 🧠 Stay smart and don’t fall for the fake prompt!
